На старій, забутій військовій базі в Тихому океані солдати, що втратили розум через тягар війни, були зібрані для виконання останнього завдання. Там, далеко від цивілізації, сержант Ел виховує свою любов до хоробрих солдатів, доктор Фрідріх розвиває свій талант фотографа, а генерал А, що втратив розум, створює своє мистецтво. Але генерал А не використовує ні папір, ні полотно, він намагається зробити щось інше.
