Югославська художниця Маріна Абрамовіч називає себе "бабусею перформансу". І в неї є на те всі підстави. Сьогодні в цьому виді мистецтва їй, мабуть, немає рівних, а вперше вона звернула на себе увагу арт-спільноти ще в 1974 році.Документальний фільм Меттью Ейкерса розповідає про підготовку Маріни до своєї ретроспективної виставки в Музеї сучасного мистецтва в Нью-Йорку (яка стала найбільшим перформансом в історії MoMA). Її відвідувачі змогли не лише побачити, а й особисто взяти участь у реконструкціях найбільш знакових та провокативних перформансів художниці, один з яких тривав 736,5 годин (кожен міг дивитися прямо в очі Абрамовіч 30 хвилин, що приводило до самих непередбачуваних наслідків). Мало хто зможе повторити те, на що здатна Маріна. Але ті, кому це вдасться, зрозуміють, що значить не тільки "бути присутнім", а й "бути" тут і зараз.
