Thaddeus and Jue, the senior officers of the hovership The Osiris, have their erotic martial arts sparring session interrupted when the crew discovers a dire threat to the hidden city of Zion. The crew resolves to warn the settlement, but they are immediately detected by the machines and the chase is on. Now Jue must enter the Matrix to send the warning and hope that her comrades can hold off the enemy until she can complete her mission.

When the trade war escalates into war the machines begin a seemingly unstoppable march across the globe. With solutions running out man darkens the sky to try and shut out the machine's main energy source, but the machines keep coming.

Dan ran a 100 meters world record of just under 9 seconds, but was accused of using doping and found positive. Now he is back, and he is willing to give everything. Too much thinks his friend, who is concerned that Dan will injure himself by running too hard in the qualifiers. But something strange is going on with Dan, as machine agents are keeping a close eye on him. When the race is there, fate strikes as Dan muscles literally are severed, causing Dan to fall. But somehow he finds the strength to go on, passing his opponents, on his way to learn the truth.

Cis, one of the humans who have left The Matrix, is improving her skills in a virtual training program. All of the sudden she is joined by Duo, another human. After some sparring he begins a discussion about every human once in his life having doubts on making the right decision in leaving The Matrix and with it a care free life. He assures nobody can listen to them, since he blocked all communications with the interface. Cis admits she had has doubts, but Duo admits to something even bigger. He wants to return to The Matrix and Cis should come with him, even if she doesn't want to.
