За часів наполеонівських воєн молодий офіцер знаходить рукопис, що стосується історії його дідуся, капітана охорони Альвана Ворд. Альван, людина честі шукає коротку дорогу через Сієрра Морена. У готелі він зустрічає двох східних принцес. Вони ставляться до нього, як до кузена, і намагаються всіляко його спокусити. Потім він прокидається під шибеницею, на якій висять два мерці, та перестає відрізняти де правда, а де фантазія... За однойменним сатиричним романом Яна Потоцького.
Сюжет

На другий день все починає збуватися по черзі: він знаходить загублену річ, циганка відгадує виграшні лотерейні числа. І все прямує до найгіршого: вбивства. Головний герой вирішує боротись з цим пророцтвом, на допомогу йому приходить його товариш Казік і вони разом йдуть наперекір злій долі.
Сюжет
Головний герой, через власну наївність і злі наміри навколишніх, завжди потрапляє в комічні абсурдні ситуації. Вершиною всього стає віщування циганки, в яке Міхал не вірить. На другий день все починає збуватися по черзі: він знаходить загублену річ, циганка відгадує виграшні лотерейні числа. І все прямує до найгіршого: вбивства. Based on motifs from Jurandot and Sart's operetta "Miss Polonia," this musical comedy tells the story of a star of the Opole Festival who tries to make a career in Paris. After winning the Audience Award at the Opole Festival, young singer Mariola leaves for Paris to pursue a career there. However, her performances are not successful. She tries to hide this fact and uses various methods to sign a contract. Her beloved, the young composer Piotr, discovers the truth about her alleged career, while at the same time rejecting offers from a star who is interested in him and wants to promote his songs. Piotr and Mariola return to Warsaw.
