Pежисер на ім’я Пекки Парікка – створив цю кінокартину у формі батального епосу присвяченого подіям т.зв. «Зимової війни» 1939-1940 років, коли незалежна Фінляндія опинилася наодинці з військовим вторгненням радянського союзу. На тлі звитяжних подій фінські добровольці відчайдушно боронили свою країну від совєтів на укріпленій «лінії Манерґейма».
