До кінця 18 століття, Польська держава опиняється під владою відразу трьох країн — Росії, Австрії і Пруссії. Остання надія волелюбних поляків — французьке військо, під чиї прапори добровільно встають герої фільму. Однак участь у наполеонівських походах призводить не до довгоочікуваної незалежності й об'єднання Польщі, а до ганебного створення васального Варшавського герцогства. Долі героїв історичної драми так само трагічні, як і доля, їхньої країни.
Сюжет
До кінця 18 століття, Польська держава опиняється під владою відразу трьох країн — Росії, Австрії і Пруссії. Остання надія волелюбних поляків — французьке військо, під чиї прапори добровільно встають герої фільму. Польща стала «радянською територією».Колишній студент Мацек, досвідчений і відважний боєць Опору, тепер одержав особливе завдання - ліквідовувати одного високопоставленого комуніста. Помилково Мацек і його командир стають винуватцями загибелі не партійного діяча, а двох простого робітників.
Сюжет
