Стримано й сумно терпів він глузування товаришів по службі, поки випадкова зустріч зі старим приятелем не відкрила перед колишнім суддею-невдахою звабну перспективу все-таки домогтися свого.Абель - так звали приятеля Макса - десять років прослужив у Французькому Іноземному легіоні в Індокитаю й в Алжирі, а тепер у складі банди «бляхарів» промишляв крадіжками металобрухту й викраденням автомашин.

І хоча «приваблива» пропозиція залишає Барана байдужим, Проп не з тих хлопців, хто легко погодиться з відмовою.

Як будь-яка повія вона виконує всі бажання своїх клієнтів. А потім повертається до домівки.
Таким чином, Северина починає вести подвійне життя.
