‘Moscou’ is a densely populated working class neighbourhood on the outskirts of Ghent, Belgium. Matty, mother of three, bumps her car into a truck on the parking lot of a supermarket. Johnny climbs down from the cabin. He is infuriated by the dent in his front bumper and yells at Matty. Although impressed by the accident, Matty fights back with sharp words. Their discussion turns into a row, and the police have to intervene. Matty goes home, the trunk of her car dancing up and down. Back in her apartment, Matty takes a hot bath to recover from the afternoon’s emotionswhen the phone rings. It’s Johnny, apologizing for his behaviour on the parking lot. Matty tells him to stay out of her life. A dramatic comedy begins about a woman whose soul is full of dents and bruises.

Кожен глухий закуток Фландрії має свій провінційний рок-груп, який, марно мріючи про зіркову славу, грає де тільки вдасться. Три музиканти-інваліди, як і їхні кумири, підсіли на наркотики. Вони шукають ударника для свого гурту „The Feminists“. Відомий письменник Дріс відповідає усім вимогам, але є один нюанс: він не вміє грати на ударних. Попри це, нахабний ошуканець намагається долучитися до гурту і таким чином спричиняє особисті та сімейні негаразди, що загрожують і без того сумнівному майбутньому колективу. Хмари згущуються, і Дрісу навіть вдається переконати учасників гурту випити крові один одного. Фільм навряд-чи можна назвати звичайною адаптацією твору відомого фламандського письменника Германа Брюссельманса. Це жорсткий, разючий, часом моторошний, подекуди комічний і, як і попередні короткометражки Мортьє, - надзвичайно експресивний фільм про музику.

One day Salvatore decides to move to Belgium to work in the coal mine of Waterschei as a "gastarbeider," an immigrant worker. He hopes to earn much money in a rather small time frame so he can buy a forge for his son Rocco who is now still a 9 year old boy. After a year, Salvatore decides his family should be with him, so they also move to Belgium. They soon discover the life of a "gastarbeider" is difficult: they have to live in some kind of barracks, they are neglected by the Belgian people and they do not earn much. They are astonished when they hear Salvatore signed a contract of five years and children of "gastarbeiders" ought to work in the mines as soon they leave high school. Rocco meets Helena, the daughter of the local grocer. However, the man is a racist and forbids his daughter to play with Italian boys.
