Документальний фільм "Всередині великої чорнобильської гробниці" супроводжує побудову безпрецедентної 36-тисячотонної сталевої споруди, що має накрити рештки атомної електростанції, зруйнованої у 1986-му році в Чорнобильській катастрофі. Фільм показує міжнародну команду інженерів у їхньому змаганні збудувати нову споруду до того, як первинний бетонний саркофаг — наспіх збудована споруда, що накриває реактор - обвалиться. Тимчасовий саркофаг, збудований лише на 30 років, зараз руйнується, наражаючи світ на ризик ще одного викиду радіоактивного пилу. Рівень радіації унеможливлює побудову нового укриття безпосередньо над старим реактором, тому інженери зводять нову мегаспоруду - вищу за Біг-Бен та втричі важчу за Ейфелеву вежу — осторонь і потім матимуть задачу пересунути найбільший у світі рухомий наземний об'єкт на нове місце над старим реактором.
