Одного разу юрист Стівен Арден приходить на прийом до свого друга психіатра Тоні Флегга з проханням вивести його із запою, пов’язаного з його майбутнім одруженням на популярній радіозірці Аманді Купер, яка виявилася вельми непередбачуваною особою. Волею долі Аманда опиняється в кабінеті Тоні і, випадково вмикнувши фонограф, чує нелестну думку лікаря про себе.Дівчина вирішує дошкулити лікареві за його слова, але виходить зовсім навпаки — вона закохується в Тоні.
