Художній фільм Фріца Ланґа за сценарієм і паралельно написаним романом Теа Фон Гарбоу. Це масштабна метафорична й науково-фантастична антиутопія, що стала найвищою сходинкою і завершенням розвитку німецького кiно-експресіонiзму. The title refers to a moving incident in the story, and translates as "the wonderful lie of Nina Petrovna."
