У 1985 році двоє альпіністів - Джо Сімпсон і Саймон Етс - вирушили підкоряти західний схил Сеула Гранді в Перуанських Андах. У 1985 році двоє альпіністів - Джо Сімпсон і Саймон Етс - вирушили підкоряти західний схил Сеула Гранді в Перуанських Андах. Їхньою головною метою був семитисячник, що до цього часу ще не підкорився жодному альпіністові. Цей фільм-реконструкцію знято в досить незвичайній манері: у документальній частині Сімпсон і Атс через двадцять років розповідають, як усе було, у той же час, як молоді актори серед снігів і льоду грають їх жахливу історію.
