Йдеться про події, які призвели до того, що музиканти Еббі Лінкольн і Макс Роуч увірвалися до Ради Безпеки ООН на знак протесту проти вбивства конґолезького лідера Патріса Лумумби.На дворі 1961 рік, минуло шість місяців після того, як до ООН приєдналися 16 нових незалежних африканських країн. Цей політичний землетрус зміщує більшість голосів від колоніальних держав до Глобального Півдня. Поки радянський лідер Нікіта Хрущов обурено стукає черевиком, звинувачуючи ООН у причетності до повалення Лумумби, Державний департамент США діє і відправляє до Конґо свого джазового посла — Луї Армстронґа, щоби відвернути увагу від перевороту, підтриманого ЦРУ.
