A day in the life of a man suffering from everyday sexism in a world ruled by women.
Сюжет
Важка соціальна драма про боротьбу людини з власними страхами, яка розгортається на тлі правління у Перу авторитарного режиму, що наприкінці XX сторіччя розправився з десятками тисяч осіб. Це оповідь-легенда, що має смислову ємність епосу, а не історичний фільм. Головна героїня Фауста народилася в часи терористичного режиму, ввібравши в себе жах насильства і смерті з колискових пісень — із молоком матері, зґвалтованої солдатами. Аби не зазнати такого поводження, дівчина тримає в інтимному місці картоплину, що має викликати огиду в потенційного ґвалтівника. Картоплина живе своїм життям і навіть проростає, а Фауста старанно уникає будь-якого контакту з навколишнім світом. Всі навкруги цураються таких, як вона, стверджуючи, що «це люди без душі, адже тільки страх панує всередині у них». Візуальне середовище фільму майже непомітно поглинає, наповнюючи невибагливу історію багатющою символікою: через долю однієї дівчини проглядає доля цілого народу.

Важка соціальна драма про боротьбу людини з власними страхами, яка розгортається на тлі правління у Перу авторитарного режиму, що наприкінці XX сторіччя розправився з десятками тисяч осіб. Це оповідь-легенда, що має смислову ємність епосу, а не історичний фільм. Головна героїня Фауста народилася в часи терористичного режиму, ввібравши в себе жах насильства і смерті з колискових пісень — із молоком матері, зґвалтованої солдатами. Аби не зазнати такого поводження, дівчина тримає в інтимному місці картоплину, що має викликати огиду в потенційного ґвалтівника. Картоплина живе своїм життям і навіть проростає, а Фауста старанно уникає будь-якого контакту з навколишнім світом. Всі навкруги цураються таких, як вона, стверджуючи, що «це люди без душі, адже тільки страх панує всередині у них». Візуальне середовище фільму майже непомітно поглинає, наповнюючи невибагливу історію багатющою символікою: через долю однієї дівчини проглядає доля цілого народу.

The main hero of the film is an electrician with a far greater effect on the people around him than his job defines. He is the last link in a huge energetic system and he becomes the binding bridge between the geopolitical problems of post-soviet space and the common people. The economic devastation of the country had an enormous impact on the industrial workers and yet despite the upheaval, these people did not seize to love and suffer, to have and be friends and to enjoy their lives. In particular our resilient electrician, who possesses a wonderful and open heart. He not only brings electric light (which is often out) to the lives of the inhabitants of this small city, but he also spreads the light of love, loyalty, life and mainly laughter.
