На околицях Одеси розташований санаторій «Куяльник» — велика будівля 1970-х років, що функціонує як готель і медзаклад. Щоліта сюди з’їжджаються тисячі українців, яких приваблюють радянські методи оздоровлення та можливість відпочити на солоному озері. Утім, найбільшою принадою є загадкова чорна грязь, що, як кажуть, лікує безпліддя, фізичні порушення й інші недуги. Фільм «Санаторій» переносить нас у літо в цьому незвичному місці і демонструє щоденну працю персоналу, що невтомно дбає про здоров’я, комфорт і дозвілля відвідувачів — попри близькість війни. Для гостей це — нагода відновити сили, зцілити душу й тіло, покохати. І хоч зовсім поруч лунають обстріли, щось у пастельно-рожевих і лаймово-зелених коридорах санаторію знов і знов притягує відвідувачів. Можливо, це — віра в омолодження. А може — якась таємниця, захована у тих цілющих грязях…

For half a century, in Russia, Germany and the U.S., doctors and biologists have been exploring a different therapeutic approach: fasting.The results are amazing. Soviet researchers have provided a body of clinical studies of exceptional wealth ...only published in Russian, and thus unknown in the West. Young biologists from the University of Los Angeles have overturned conventional wisdom and used molecular biology to demonstrate the powerful effects of fasting. These researches suggest a wide-ranging potential, which could include treatments for the disease of the century, cancer. If these scientists are right, maybe our approach to disease and treatment will need a rethink.
