Назвою фільму є вираз індіанців гопі /ko yaa nis katsi/, що поміж іншим означає "життя поза балансом", а якщо узагальнити всі значення, то йдеться про стан життя, який вимагає іншого способу життя. Це апокаліптичне бачення зіткнення двох світів: урбанізованого, технологічного, що вибудовується сучасним людством, зі світом навколишнього середовища. Зазвичай, люди сприймають свій світ, свій спосіб життя як прекрасні, тому що в реальності не стикалися достатньо з іншими проявами тих самих явищ. Творці стрічки намагаються розкрити "красу звіра", залишаючи підняті в ній питання на розсуд глядачів... Фільм створювався протягом 7 років і ще понад десятиліття не видавався через ліцензійні обмеження.
