Історія відбувається під час пандемії в родині двох жінок — матері та її дорослої доньки. В одній частині будинку розташована музична школа матері, де вона проводить заняття онлайн. Вона — вчителька гри на фортепіано, сильна й організована жінка, яка спілкується лише зі своїми учнями й ученицями, тому довкола неї постійно — ціле море дітей. У другій частині будинку міститься доньчина студія живопису. Ці два світи рідко взаємодіють між собою, утворюючи метафору людської самотності. Однак, зрештою, героїнь обʼєднує історія смерті Каті, доньки їхньої подруги Інни.

«Зірка полин» — 14-хвилинний документальний фільм про вибір і цінності. У фільмі показано село Малі Кліщі, засноване ще в 1790 році. У 1972 році тут було 200 дворів і 530 жителів. Однак через радіоактивне забруднення мешканці села були відселені. 21 червня 1991 року обласна рада зняла село з обліку. Сьогодні у Малих Кліщах залишилося лише двоє жителів. Головні герої фільму – мати та син – Ніна (79 років) та Олександр (62 роки). Попри те, що багато років живуть разом, вони не знаходять спільної мови. За право залишитися у власній домівці вони заплатили найвищу ціну – самотність.

In order to keep him busy, his mother decides to give him a goal : he has to bring the funeral urn of his grand-mother - who just passed away - back to her native country, in Sweden. Axel does not know this country and travels all the way back to his roots. On the road, he meets a young woman.
