П'єр Кузен – композитор. В особистому житті йому не щастить. Після розриву з коханою дівчиною – він на порозі самогубства.Але це не так просто зробити, а тут ще довелося рятувати утопленицю, як потім з'ясувалося, чарівну співачку Кароліну Клеман. У поліцейському відділку П'єр знайомиться з божевільним, який радить йому найняти кілера і тим самим позбавити себе від самогубства.
Врешті-решт П'єр знаходить кілерів. Заковика лише одна – у житті П'єра починає все налагожуватись, і жити раптом дуже захотілося, та навколо йому вже ввижаються ті самі наймані вбивці.

He refuses, and apparently dies after a midnight toast at his masked ball. However, he is only drugged by Judex and locked away. Judex spares his life when the banker's widowed daughter, Jacqueline, rejects the inheritance. Meanwhile Diana Monti, the former governess, kidnaps Jacqueline to try to get the banker's money. But Judex is hot on her trail.
