Молодий студент Франкенштейн (Огастес Філліпс) усамітнюється в університетській лабораторії і намагається створити досконалу людину. Проте з величезної котла з реактивами з'являється дуже далека від ідеалу потворна істота — Чудовисько (Чарлз Огл). Франкенштейн в жаху залишає лабораторію. Вдома студента заспокоює його наречена Елізабет (Мері Фуллер), і Франкенштейн приходить до думки, що штучне створення людської істоти — помилковий шлях, а істина тільки в людських почуттях. Чарлз Огл в ролі монстраУ день весілля Чудовисько, яке не може існувати без свого творця, проникає в будуар Елізабет. На її крик прибігає Франкенштейн. Елізабет в непритомності. Чудовисько збиває студента з ніг і переховується. Франкенштейна переповнює любов до Елізабет, і це почуття остаточно витісняє Чудовисько з його свідомості. Фільм закінчується метафоричним епізодом, в якому Чудовисько бачить своє відображення в дзеркалі і з загрозою здіймає руки — але раптом зникає, причому його відображення в дзеркалі залишається. Франкенштейн підходить до дзеркала і бачить у ньому замість себе Чудовисько. Але боротьба добра і зла в душі студента вже завершено: жахливий образ в дзеркалі змінюється на власне відображення Франкенштейна.
Сюжет

A man dressed in red is ushered into an antechamber in a Castle and offered a seat. When he tried to sit down the chair moves to the other side of the room causing the man to fall on the floor. Standing up he strides to the chair but on trying to lift it a Spector materializes in the chair, arises and challenges the man. The man pulls out his sword and lunges at the Spector but it changes into a skeleton. Seeing the change the man tried to grab the skeleton but it changes into an armor clad guard. The man attempts to move the guard but a devil appears and waves the man away. The man recoils from the devil and tries to leave but the Spector reappears. Both it and the devil frighten the man from the antechamber.

Two demons have captured a woman, and they wrap her in a cloth and throw her into a boiling cauldron. One of the demons then brings in two more captives, who also are tossed into the cauldron. One demon then stirs the pot, while the other demon tries to summon forth the spirits of the recently departed.

And it’s not one to watch the night before an operation. In this clinic, a sign pleads “On est prie de ne pas crier/Please do not cry”, and the doctors set about the patient with saws, cheerily hacking off limbs, and then slopping them into a bucket, all the while arguing ferociously with each other. They then reattach arms and legs from a bucket of “exchange pieces” (using glue) before re-animating their victim, I mean patient, with bellows.
