Після народження дитини Філіп купує 8-міліметрову камеру і перші любительські досліди присвячує дочці. У маленькому фабричному містечку кіноманський порив дилетанта-оператора не залишається непоміченим, і ось вже Філіп стає особистим помічником місцевого партійного боса.З підвищенням по службі росте і слава любителя; тільки погляд його на реальність через об'єктив стає все більш неприємним і нещадним і таким, що все менш влаштовує можновладців.
Сюжет
Після народження дитини Філіп купує 8-міліметрову камеру і перші любительські досліди присвячує дочці. У маленькому фабричному містечку кіноманський порив дилетанта-оператора не залишається непоміченим, і ось вже Філіп стає особистим помічником місцевого партійного боса.З підвищенням по службі росте і слава любителя; тільки погляд його на реальність через об'єктив стає все більш неприємним і нещадним і таким, що все менш влаштовує можновладців.

Опритомнів він на другий день десь за містом, без документів і грошей, а найгірше, що після удару по голові, лікар утратив пам'ять. Не пам'ятаючи хто він, лікар стає волоцюгою і рятується випадковими заробітками. Через п'ятнадцять років він наймається до мельника Прокопа у млин і ставить на ноги сина господаря – Василя, який після нещасного випадку не міг ходити. Після цього випадку простий робітник став найвідомішим знахарем в околиці.Сюжет
