Там, де по вулицях розгулює злочинність і трапляються транспортні зіткнення, починає діяти спецзагін "Кобра 11". Ці хлопці добре знають свою справу. Їм не раз доводилося врятовувати людські життя і знаходити вихід, здавалося б, з безнадійних ситуацій. Для головних героїв, напарників-поліцейських Земіра Ґеркана і Тома Краніха, життя на швидкісній смузі означає постійний ризик, по одній розбитій службовій машині в день, десяток місць аварій, постійний адреналін в крові і швидкі результати в їх нескінченній боротьбі із злочинністю на дорозі. Патрульні машини поліцейського загону "Кобра 11" і вдень, і вночі, в будь-яку погоду на посту... Вони відповідають за безпеку всіх, хто в дорозі! У вівторок 12-го березня 1996 року 10,07 мільйонів людей спостерігали першу серію "Alarm fur Cobra - Die Autobahnpolizei". Ніколи в історії німецького комерційного телебачення не було так багато глядачів, що спостерігали пілотну серію нового серіалу. Наступні епізоди також спостерігалися багатьма людьми. Так "Кобра 11" став одним з найуспішніших серіалів RTL. "Alarm fur Cobra - Die Autobahnpolizei" - серіал про два дорожніх поліцейськх з ділянки з кодовою назвою "Кобра 11", які борятся проти злочинності на німецьких автобанах. Таким чином кримінальник, до того ж нехрещений, перетворюється на священнослужителя в Лейтерберзі.
