Журналіст-п'яниця, що топить у пляшці своє горе після втрати дружини і дочки, на адресу видання отримує лист від дівчинки на ім'я Вірджинія, яка запитує, чи існує Санта Клаус у реальності. Пробуджений цим листом до життя, він пише чудову статтю, даючи в ній відповідь на це питання. Ця подія змінює на краще життя кількох людей.
