Сюжет
У скелястих горах Колорадо розташований розкішний, хоча і занедбаний, тимчасово не працюючий готель. На осінь і зиму в готелі поселяється доглядач Джек Торренс з дружиною і маленьким сином Денні. Погана слава готелю, його зловісне минуле, чутки про примар, що населяють будинок, - все це швидше спокушає Джека, аніж відштовхує. У минулому Джек - анонімний алкоголік, схильний до насильства, але це в минулому... Деякий час життя в готелі проходить спокійно, ніщо і ніхто не турбує молоду сім'ю. Згодом через рясний снігопад готель стає відрізаним від світу, однак це ще не найстрашніше... В певний момент маленькому Денні починає здаватися, що він знає моторошне минуле готелю, знає, що ховається за дверима кожного із сотні порожніх номерів, і, що найголовніше, він бачить образи не лише минулого. However, when the children discover that their new guardian has a crush on their teacher (Cecilia Nilsson), they do what they can to bring the two together. Soon enough, the three will discover that they have a lot more in common than they previously imagined, and together they can make their lives worth living again. This is a sweet story about life in Sweden in the mid 1900's. It is about family, love, hate, innocent friendship that we all can relate to, and much, much more. The movie invites laughter as well as tears, and the actors, both the young and the old, are very talented and the best Sweden can offer. One will never forget the scene when Yngve believes the children enjoy speed bumps!
