Інесс Конраді вже давно не маленька татова дівчинка – вона доросла жінка, успішний бізнес-консультант процвітаючої корпорації. Але для свого батька Вінфріда (Петер Сімонішек) вона як і раніше мила дитина, яка не завжди розуміє що їй потрібно насправді. Щоб повернути втрачений зв'язок з дочкою, винахідливий татко прикидається таким собі Тоні Ердманном, диваком-бізнесменом, який активно вливається в роботу компанії.

Гурт "Рокко та кардіостимулятори" завершили свій успішний концертний тур країною. Та сили його учасників не безмежні і вони змушені повернутися до свого звичайного сірого життя у будинку для літніх, де тепер новий директор відкинув демократичні правила поведінки у закладі, встановлені його попередником. Жителі не погоджуються з цим та нічого не можуть вдіяти, адже іншого житла у них немає... Чи, може... знову відродити діяльність гурту, аби зібрати кошти на своє, власне житло?

Rudolf, a bookshop salesman, Gabriel, an actor, and Nicolas, a bar waiter, share more than one common point: the three of them are thirty-something, gay and... neurotic! So what a shock when following a sentimental break-up, Rudolf decides to leave Paris (and his two friends at the same time). What he wants is to put order in his life and it seems to him the best thing to do is to move back to the village of his birth, somewhere in the Austrian mountains, far from the chaos of Parisian life.
