Francin (Jirà Schmitzer), manager of a small-town brewery, has a charming wife whose abundant blonde locks are an adornment to the town. Maryska (Magda Vásáryová) looks ethereal but loves meat and beer, while Francin is an ascetic. The strict members of the brewery board of directors come to audit the accounts, but are diverted from concentrating on Francin's detailed reports by Maryska, who has organized a pig-killing feast and is ably assisting the butcher. When she invites the old curmudgeons on the board to enjoy the fresh pork, they are too happy to agree. Francin doesn't know whether he is going to get a permanent contract. To make things worse his brother Pepin (JaromÃr HanzlÃk) - eccentric, noisy and garrulous - turns up on an indefinite visit.

За мотивами словацької казки.Якось старий король вирішив видати своїх трьох дочок заміж та віддати королівство тій, яка найдужче його любить. Старша сказала, що батько їй дорожче золота, середня - дорожче коштовного каміння. Коли король запитав у своєї молодшої дочки (нареченої сина Підземного короля - Принца солі), як сильно вона його любить, то почув: "Більше, ніж сіль". Король розсердився, адже сіль така дешева, не те, що золото чи смарагди. За таку відповідь дівчину виганяють з палацу. А розлючений Підземний король перетворив Принца, вибір земної нареченої якого він не схвалював, на соляну статую, а на країну наклав страшне прокляття - вся сіль на землях королівства перетворюється на золото. Спочатку золоту всі радіють, проте, з часом, вони зрозуміють справжню цінність солі...

'Passionate Discourse' shows two clay figures romantically intertwined, and the problems with dealing with the end product of their passion, while 'Exhaustive Discussion' shows two animated heads playing a bizarre variant of the old scissors-paper-stone game.
