About child abduction. Every two days in The Netherlands there is an abducted child. Most children never see their mother and family back. Janneke Schoonhoven from Oude Pekela is one of the few who succeeded thanks to her huge struggle to get her children back. Everyone in The Netherlands was watching, when her children were brought back by minister Bot, after they hid for half a year at the Dutch embassy in Syria. Janneke and her children became the symbol for hope. This film tries to get attention for a complex recurring problem, which many agencies continue to look on helplessly. The film begins August 2004. Hanne (Karina Smulders) trusts her two children (of 9 and 11 years old) to their father and her ex-husband Nizar (Cahit Olmez). He claims to take them to Euro Disney in Paris. After a couple of days Hanne gets a phone call from Nizar who is in the Dutch Embassy in Damascus, Syria. Nizar tells her that he had to escape to Syria because he was threatened in The Netherlands. Hanne is willing to believe him, but her current husband Bertus (Tjebbo Gerritsma) suggests that it is just a way to get her back, because it is a shame for his Syrian family that he is divorced from his wife. Hanne leaves for Syria together with Wouter (Thom Hoffman), who is experienced in child abductions. From that moment on the heartbreaking struggle begins. She has to fight for over two years to get her children back to The Netherlands. Hanne gets confronted with her own feelings about what she should do and what she thinks is the best way to solve it. This results in, that she is confronted with her current husband and their children. In the end she realizes there is only one thing left to do, to get her children back. She travels back to Syria one last time to try to convince her children that they have to try to escape for themselves from the force of their father. They run to the Dutch embassy trough the dazzling labyrinth of the streets of Damascus.

Nihal Singh is a young man from a village in Nabha, who in an attempt to get rid of an unwanted marriage proposal, ends up lying to his entire village that he loves somebody named 'Jasneet Kaur' (Surveen Chawla) from Vancouver. In reality, Jasneet is a girl, who Nihal and his friend and partner in crime, Taari (Binnu Dhillon) find on the web and keep a picture of her to show as proof to the village. Coaxed by his mother and a nagging village 'Taayi', Nihal Singh sets out for Canada to stay with Taari's Chacha (B.N. Sharma) and get his help in finding the whereabouts of Jasneet. There he also meets a girl named, Simrat (Japji Khaira) who informs him that Jasneet belongs to one of the wealthiest family in Vancouver and that it would be very difficult for him to reach her. However, the luck favors our brave 'Singh' who ends up becoming the body guard of Jasneet after saving her life twice from the goons who want to kill her. Once again pressed by his mother and Taayi, Nihaal Singh has to somehow bring Jasneet to his village.

Mr. Oberoi is a wealthy industrialist, and lives a comfortable lifestyle, with this two sons. The elder son is married, and Mr Oberoi wants his second son, Viren, to marry too. Though Viren has always lived in his father and brother's shadows, he is quite romantic at heart, and hopes to fall in love first and then marry the girl of his choice. The presence of Aditi prevents this, and he makes all attempts not to marry her. He succeeds, the wedding arrangements are all called off. Then he meets the girl of his dreams, Karen Fernandes, and proposes marriage to her. The only setback he sees that she is a Catholic, and he, a Hindu. However, that is soon overcome. Everything seems to go on smoothly between both the families, when Viren falls out of love with Karen, and wants to cancel the wedding. When questioned about his change in mind, he responds that he is in love with Aditi. But Aditi will not have anything to do with him anymore, for she is getting engaged to a childhood friend, Mahesh, and she very forthrightly tells Viren on his face that she will only marry Mahesh and no one else. How will Karen react to Viren's change of mind? Will Viren change his mind again, or will he fall in love with a third female?
