Спекотне літо 1941 року. У Радянській Карелії фінські частини ведуть запеклі бої з російськими військами. Отримавши наказ звільнити захоплені землі, взвод лейтенанта Ееро вирушає у важкий і небезпечний похід, результат якого неможливо передбачити. Намагаючись не потрапити в засідку в дрімучих лісах, втрачаючи побратимів по зброї, солдати просуваються вглиб ворожого тилу, але незабаром відважний лейтенант одержує звістку про те, що його наречена, медсестра Карина, загинула у бою з радянськими загарбниками. Тепер таємна вилазка відчайдушних бійців стане для юного офіцера місією помсти за кохану.
