Під час подорожі по Африці головний герой мультфільму, Людина в жовтому капелюсі, за збігом обставин стає володарем неслухняної мавпочки-шимпанзе на ім'я Джордж, разом з якою він повертається до Америки. Дуже скоро Людина в жовтому капелюсі розуміє, що його вихованець може бути не тільки джерелом веселості, але і вельми серйозних проблем. Непомірна цікавість Джорджа раз у раз стає причиною ніякових ситуацій і відвертих проказ, що приводять до дуже неприємних наслідків, вирішувати які само собою доводиться його господареві.
