Друзям-студентам з престижного Лейденського універу майбутнє здається безхмарним. Але Друга світова війна і німецька окупація жорстоко ламають їхні долі. Жак продовжує спокійно вчитися, Алекс вступає у війська СС, Роббі співробітничає з гестапо. А Ерік і його найкращий друг Ґус стають бійцями опору. За наказом голландської королеви і уряду у вигнанні вони створюють підпільну розвідувально-диверсійну мережу, яка повинна підготувати висадку союзних військ.
Сюжет
Друзям-студентам з престижного Лейденського універу майбутнє здається безхмарним. Але Друга світова війна і німецька окупація жорстоко ламають їхні долі. Жак продовжує спокійно вчитися, Алекс вступає у війська СС, Роббі співробітничає з гестапо. А Ерік і його найкращий друг Ґус стають бійцями опору. За наказом голландської королеви і уряду у вигнанні вони створюють підпільну розвідувально-диверсійну мережу, яка повинна підготувати висадку союзних військ.
Сюжет
Останні дні війни. Голландія окупована фашистами. Біля будинку одного з жителів маленького містечка партизанами був убитий голландець, який співпрацював з фашистами. Жителі цього будиночка, побоюючись помсти фашистів, перетягують тіло до іншої хати. У ньому живе директор гімназії з сім'єю. Фашисти розстрілюють всю сім'ю, і спалюють цей будинок дотла. Вдається вижити тільки 12-річному Антону. Ця страшна трагедія залишає глибокий слід в душі хлопчика, і коли він зростає, незважаючи на його щасливе одруження, успішну кар'єру, події тієї страшної ночі весь час нагадують йому про себе і позбавляють спокою...Сюжет

При цьому напрочуд неспішний ритм у цілому. Всі, кому подобався оригінал, сподобається й ОВА, кому не сподобався - відповідно не сподобається.
