За цей час Едсон Арантіс ду Насіменту встиг взяти участь в чотирьох чемпіонатах світу і тричі підняти головний трофей турніру над головою (лише в 1966 році, в Англії бразильці не змогли вийти з групи, поступившись угорцям і португальцям), пройшовши шлях від кращого молодого гравця турніру в 58-му році в Швеції, до кращого гравця чемпіонату в Мексиці 70-го.
