5.7 Сюжет
Тиша паризької ночі порушена лементами, що доносяться із чотириповерхового будинку на розі вулиці Морг. У будинку виявляються два жіночих трупи. Префект поліції здивований: у подвійного вбивства немає ні явних мотивів, ні доказів. Ясно лише одне: убивця не тільки має нелюдську силу, але й здатний розчинятися в тумані ночі. Клер Дюпен вважає, що злочин обов'язково повинен зацікавити її батька.Вийшовши на пенсію, один із кращих детективів Франції Огюст Дюпен втратив смак до життя.
