Югославська художниця Маріна Абрамовіч називає себе "бабусею перформансу". І в неї є на те всі підстави. Сьогодні в цьому виді мистецтва їй, мабуть, немає рівних, а вперше вона звернула на себе увагу арт-спільноти ще в 1974 році.Документальний фільм Меттью Ейкерса розповідає про підготовку Маріни до своєї ретроспективної виставки в Музеї сучасного мистецтва в Нью-Йорку (яка стала найбільшим перформансом в історії MoMA). Її відвідувачі змогли не лише побачити, а й особисто взяти участь у реконструкціях найбільш знакових та провокативних перформансів художниці, один з яких тривав 736,5 годин (кожен міг дивитися прямо в очі Абрамовіч 30 хвилин, що приводило до самих непередбачуваних наслідків).
