Laholi is a small village in India whose inhabitants are poor, simple-minded, and are used to their lives being controlled by the dictatorial Landlord, Thakurain, and her brother, Baj Bahadur. Although Lilaram is the one with the highest educational qualifications, he is unable to secure any job. He decides to make a living selling lottery tickets, especially the Delhi-based Malamaal Weekly, but is barely able to make ends meet. Then one day he finds out that one of his lottery tickets is a winner. He concocts a scheme with his wife, which involves pawning her pet goat with the Thakurain, getting people together for a feast, so that he can get their tickets back - all in vain. Then he finds out that the only one who was absent was the town drunk, Anthony Fernandes. When he goes to Anthony's house he finds him dead, happily clutching his winning lottery ticket. When Lilaram tries to take the ticket from Anthony's hand, another villager, Balwant, happens to come by, both of them compromise and decide to share the one crore prize. They decide to toss the body in the river. Then Kanhaiya, who wants to marry Lilaram's daughter, Sukhmani, comes by, he overhears, and is also made a partner. Kanhaiya is asked to dispose off the body, which he does. The next day when Lilaram telephones the lottery office, he is told that Anthony had already phoned in his winning number. Lilaram, Kanhaiya, and Balwant rush to get Anthony's body back, which they find perched on a tree, as Kanhaiya had not done a good job. They take the body back and it is there that they are met by Anthony's estranged sister, Mary, who also knew about the winning ticket. After a few clarifications, Mary, her husband, and her child are also made partners. Then the sky literally falls on them when they find several village businessmen, to whom Anthony owed money, assembled in front of the house to collect their dues. They too are inducted as partners and then begins the trial of convincing the Lottery Inspector, Jayesh Agarwal, that Anthony is alive. Watch hilarious chaos unfold when Baj Bahadur, who also wants to marry Sukhmani, finds out about the winning lottery ticket.

Crime is at its highest peak in Mumbai with it split in three ways. Walia has one-third, Manik Rao has one-third and Roshni has a third of the Mumbai territory. The crime rate rises with more smuggling, trading and illegal activities soaring. Meanwhile, the CBI work constantly to stop this. Inspector Vikram is a failure of a police in life and tends to stick with the easy way. Appa is an encounter specialist who goes after the henchmen instead of the bosses, he has a wife Janki with whom they have a son. Const. Khaled is a happy-go-lucky cop. The three men's and the whole Crime branch's fate changes with the arrival of their new boss. DCP Hari arrives and realizes that the CBI are not serious and that the rules, regulations, and the very reason for joining the police force, have been thrown to the wind. With his girlfriend Kiran whom he'd promise he would marry on his mind, he does not first like the promotion to DCP and transfer to Mumbai, but later accepts it. He soon watches the brutality of the police (especially Appa) to the henchmen and orders them to be released. But during an encounter the henchmen kill Khaled, this awakens the fire trapped within Vikram. He decides to join Hari and help him clear the city starting with Yusuf Pathan. Appa soon joins them and soon headaches arises for Walia and his gang. During the climax Appa dies in a dramatic trap. Vikram and Hari get Walia, Manik,Hirachand and Roshni arrested and convicted for their crimes and then Mumbai is clean once again.

He follows her. He finds out that she has a secret male lover. When he confronts her, an argument ensues, and Avinash drinks himself to sleep. The next morning he is woken up by Police Inspector Vishnu Patnaik, arrested and charged with killing Sanjana. On being questioned, Avinash admits that they did have an argument, but he does not remember anything thereafter as he had too much alcohol. Avinash's advocate friend, Rohit, does not think that he is a killer and is on the verge of proving it in court, when a man claiming to be Sanjana's maternal uncle, Chamanlal, gives evidence that he had seen Sanjana being killed at the hands of her husband, and that her body is buried in the backyard. The police locate the body, identify it as that of Sanjana, and the court sentences Avinash with the death penalty. While being transported to jail, Avinash manages to escape in order to try and find out who killed his wife, and who framed him. Only to run into Rohit - who wants Avinash dead, and take over his vast estate and property.

Vijay Singh Rajput (Amitabh Bachchan) is a quirky manager of Vilasrao Jefferson Bank. He is extremely strict at work and believes in pushing his workers to the limit. This means that his superiors hold him in high regard for his unblemished reputation and excellent track record. But things go terribly wrong for the honest bank manager when he finds one of his own employees trying to con the customers. At this, he loses his temper and gets physical with the employee. This doesn't go down well with his superiors and they decide that Rajput is now a liability to the bank and they sack him. Amitabh can't believe the Board of Directors and his mind is filled with revenge and what better revenge than robbing the bank himself, ironic as it may sound. Vijay Singh Rajput (Amitabh Bachchan) is a quirky manager of Vilasrao Jefferson Bank. He is extremely strict at work and believes in pushing his workers to the limit. Using their wits, Ganpatrao "Babubhai" Apte, Ghanshyam "Shyam", and Raju find themselves wealthy beyond their imagination. Then Raju finds out that he can double his wealth in 21 days, and meets with an attractive young woman named Anuradha from an agency in Bombay's business district. She informs him that the minimum investment is one Crore, and Raju quickly agrees to invest this money. He dupes another man by the name of Pappu into parting with 50 Lakhs, and the rest of the money comes through by getting Shyam and Babu to sign away their respective investments. After 21 days when the trio go to collect their doubled wealth, they find that Anuradha and her company have disappeared. Devastated, they move out of their bungalow and are now living in a shanty room in a Chawl when they get a visit from Pappu, who wants his money back, as he owes this money to Tiwari, an underworld Don. The trio decide to meet with Tiwari and plead with him, but all in vain, then they decide to stage a robbery, however, that does not go well either. It is then they find out that a rich Parsi man owns an antique gun collection that is worth more than their loss. They plan to steal these guns, and make a deal with Tiwari, however, once again Murphy's Law prevails and the hapless trio find themselves on the run from a multitude of gangsters and killers - including a man who can bite through steel and a faceless 8 foot monster - who will not stop at anything to get their hands on the guns.
