The Visa papers have arrived for stock broker, Salim Rajabali, and he is scheduled to leave in less than a week. Then everything goes wrong when he and his brother, Javed, inadvertently implicate themselves in the murder of Deputy Commissioner of Police Paul, and Salim must flee immediately to the U.S. albeit with a heavy heart, after also being betrayed by his lover, Namrata. But when Mary persists, he relents and permits her to marry, provided she travels with him to Lahore, Pakistan, to meet his estranged mother and brother, to which she agrees. Once there, Mary is then taken to a remote area in Afghanistan and forced to marry her cousin, Sarmad Khan, a singing artiste, who has turned conservative after being influenced by Moulana Tahiri. Sarmad's brother, Mansoor, re-locates to Chicago, to enroll for music lessons with Professor Lincoln, meets with Caucasian fellow-student, Janie, and both fall in love with each other. Than the events of 9-11 will result in Mansoor's arrest by the CIA. He is isolated, humiliated, fed pork, tortured endlessly until he reveals his role within Al Qaeda and his association with Usama Bin Laden. He is then lodged in a stinking cell where he proceeds to write 'I LOVE USA' on the walls. Mary in the meantime, with the assistance of other oppressed women, manages to escape, but is captured, taken back, sexually molested by Sarmad, becomes pregnant and gives birth to a girl. During the annual camel race, Sunderlal loses the race to the Thakur and out of shame leaves home, never to return. Now Kishanlal has come of age and is married to Lachchi. But on the very next day of the marriage, he must leave for Jamnagar to expand business, and can return only after 5 years. A tearful Lachchi bids him goodbye, but to her pleasant surprise he returns within a few days, and informs his dad that he met a holy sage who had instructed him to return as he will find five gold coins every morning. Pleased with this, Bhanwarlal does not object to Kishanlal's return. After four years, it is now time for the camel race again, and this time Bhanwarlal's camel wins, much to the chagrin of the Thakur who suspects witchcraft. Then Lachchi gets pregnant and on the day of the child's birth the family finds out to their horror that there is an impostor who is claiming to be Kishanlal, and the husband of Lachchi. The family and the town are unable to decide who is real and who the impostor, as both look identical, so they decide to approach the king and do his bidding. Сюжет

Сюжет
Двоє друзів вирушають на пошуки зниклого приятеля. У цій подорожі їм належить постійно вплутуватися у вже давно забуті суперечки, зіпсувати чуже весілля і побувати на похоронах. Їх дорога проходить через небезпечні місця. І тут починається ще одна не зовсім звичайна подорож друзів дорогами їх пам'яті. Вони згадують свого приятеля, нестримного і вільнодумного Ранчо, який якимось дивним чином увірвався в їхнє життя і все в ньому змінив. Вони згадують ті часи, коли всі вони жили в студентському гуртожитку. Згадують про те, як зароджувалося кохання Ранчо до жвавої дівчини Піа і про конфлікт Ранчо з його наставником, справжнім тираном Віру Сахастрабудхе. І ось одного разу Ранчо раптом зникає ...
