A three-part depiction of various forms of communication. 'Factual Discussion' depicts three heads (made up of fruit, kitchen utensils and writing implements respectively) endlessly devouring and regurgitating each other. 'Passionate Discourse' shows two clay figures romantically intertwined, and the problems with dealing with the end product of their passion, while 'Exhaustive Discussion' shows two animated heads playing a bizarre variant of the old scissors-paper-stone game.

In heaven, showman Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. fondly recalls his first Broadway revue, the Ziegfeld Follies of 1907. Even from heaven, he is hoping that he can, for one last time, create that same magic by mounting one last follies. As he thinks about who he would like to appear in these follies, he is assisted in realizing his fantasy, at least in his own mind, by such luminaries as Fred Astaire, Edward Arnold, 'Lucille Ball', Marion Bell, Lucille Bremer, Fanny Brice, Cyd Charisse, Judy Garland, Kathryn Grayson, Lena Horne, Gene Kelly, James Melton, Victor Moore, Virginia O'Brien, Red Skelton, Esther Williams, Keenan Wynn, and, of course, a bevy of beautiful girls.

Сюжет

Історію Фауста, людини, яка продала душу нечистому, представляє видатний чеський мультиплікатор Ян Шванкмайер. Він перетворює всім відомий міф про Фауста в сюрреалістичну суміш анімації і гіперреалізму, в якій діють живі актори, глиняні ляльки і гігантські маріонетки.
Герой Шванкмайера блукає по вузьких вулицях Праги з містичною картою в руках. Лабіринти вулиць приводять його на покинуте горище, де він знаходить старовинний ляльковий театр і «Фауста» Гьоте посередині кімнати. Він приміряє костюм Фауста і вживається в його образ.
