Пародія на містичні детективи, зокрема - на досить відомий фільм «Колодязь і маятник» (1961). Музикант симфонічного оркестру оперного театру під час вистави, на якій виконується опера Жоржа Бізе «Кармен», читає англійський детектив. Ця книга справляє на нього сильне враження. Таке, що він уявляє себе її героєм, сером Моррісом, власником готичного замку. А далі відбуваються загадкові вбивства і зникнення, інтриги і т.п.

Joe's endorsement of Kolaloka (Crazy Cola) lemonade as the refresher that assures deadly aim, convinces the Arizona sin-town to abstain from alcohol. Based on the 1963 Czech stage production. But Trigger Whiskey maker Duke Badman's brother the devious gunslinger Hogofogo, comes to save his sibling's saloon from Joe's allies, father and daughter temperance revivalists, the Goodmans.

Krabat, a beggar boy, is lured to become an apprentice to an evil, one-eyed sorcerer. With a number of other boys, he works at the sorcerer's mill while learning black magic. Every Christmas one of the boys has to face the master in a magical duel, where the boy never stands a chance because the master is the only person who is allowed to use a secret spell: The Koraktor.
