But when the wolf comes around and blows their houses down (after trickery like dressing as a foundling sheep fails), they run to their brother's house. A spider descends into the sphinx; we follow behind it in a fairly impressive tracking shot. It reaches the central chamber and the mummies come to life and dance, as do the soldiers and royalty drawn on the wall. This includes a spirited chariot race. All the activity ultimately scares the spider, and it runs out.

The clock on the church tower strikes midnight, sending the bats flying out of the belfry. Two cats on gravestones fight by pulling and stretching each other's noses like taffy. He comes after Mickey with swords, and Mickey defends himself with a sewing needle. Mickey gets the upper hand, and the king calls for reinforcements.
